Ok, you've explained the automatic version, now explain the 6 speed version. Considering the new 5.7 LS1 would DESTROY a stock 7.4l vette (with the exception of the very rare aluminum big block) out handles, out stops any vette EVER made(stock) and still comes in $30,000 under a current viper to not be impressed is just being stubborn IMHO. Again, I like Fords but the new vette Z06 is a masterpiece. You want cutting corners?? Own a $55,000 Cobra R or a $28,000 Cobra (like me) that has its roots (and floor pan) from the original '78 Fairmont. Blind brand loyalty always comes across wrong.
Oh yeah, the 73 is a classic the new ones are just a plastic version thereof. I would take a classic over any new version of the same car regaurdless of whether or not it's "faster".
