88 f150, 300/6 2wd c6trans 2.73 rear
(can't remember if thats in my sig)
anyhow, start the truck, put it in drive, hit the brake while rolling and a loud clunk/momentary drag/resistance. Sound is obviously from the rear of the truck, I can't get anyone to drive it while I listen, soooo....
doesn't seem to be ujoints.
After that clunk, it runs perfect. If I put it back into park and repeat the procedure it will not make the noise. Only if I start the truck, put it in drive and hit the brake (while rolling)
I can't guess what it'd be since it only does it once. Drum brakes look good, ujoints don't move/wiggle.
DeepRoots, I posted a note for info. called "rear end Clunk" on 8/15 and got a lot of good info from the group. That thread might help you. I am anxious to try some of the things the guys suggested but have a bum leg right now. good luck, RZ
