My front one is starting to make noise, not a squeal, but a clunking. I can crawl under the truck and shake the drive shaft and see movement in the u-joint. Runs smooth until 70mph, then it gets a small vibration that I can feel in the seat, I can also hear the clunking as I roll to a stop.
How hard is it to change them for someone who has never changed one before?
2000 Ranger, 2.5L. 5 speed manual.

BTW, I can't believe that not one Ford dealer in the Tulsa area has a PCV hose for my truck. Yea, they had to get one from Memphis.

it is not tough at all
look fo rsome how to threads but bascally what you are doing is
1- mark the driveshaft so you reinstall it in the same spot
2- remove the 4 bolts at the differential(you need a 12 pt socket)remove the DS
3- pull the snap-rings off and use 2 socket and a vice to press the u-joint out. do the opposite for install and put the DS back in
