Hey Ford people,
Help! I have a 01 Windstar LX van with 87k on it . Had this van 2yrs. Great to travel in with 3 kids. The bulb warning light on the lower right side of dash is on. I have checked all the bulbs and the turn signals and the license plate lights and the haz lights all are good but the light is still on. I cleaned the side door contacts, I didn't know if that had any thing to do with this light. How do I reset this or do I have to take it to the shop? OR should I get a smiley face from Walmart and put over it. THANKS

I am not familiar with this bulb warning light. Is it a light to tell you a specific bulb is bad? Or does it tell you a specific door is open? Or does it tell you there is something wrong with an outside bulb or a door somewhere, but doesn't actually tell you where it's located?
Thanks for the reply Dave, In my book that came with the van all it says is if this light is on a exterior bulb is out. I went over this thing twice and can't find any thing burnt out even the brights are fine.

Do they all look the same brightness? There may be a little resistance in one of the sockets that is tripping the monitor circuit. See if they all look the same. It may be a little work, but you also might want to remove and then replace all the bulbs to see if there is a bad connection in one of the sockets. Pulling all the bulbs and putting them back in may make the bad connection go away. I am not sure, but I am thinking this may monitor only the smaller bulbs around the van and not the headlights. Does the manual talk about this any?
My wife took the van to a wedding so I won't get to work on it this weekend. I filled it with gas yesterday and I may just Quit driving it. My 4cyl ranger gets 28 mpg if you baby it.

I found out one brake light would only work if the van was sitting still in the garage, when I followed my wife one day I could see it was not working. I changed the bulb and the warning light went out what a deal!
Thanks for letting me post. belovedkj
