2003 windstar
Alright, so the wife just bought a 2003 windstar at the auction last night. When we went to pick it up today there was no juice at all. No interior lights, dash etc. The lot guy came over and boosted us and it fired up no problem.
So I drove it home, let it run for about 20 mins and then shut 'er down. Right away same issue, no juice at all.
Anybody have any ideas as to what might be going on?
Oh and to make things even more fun, it appears that the coolant is mud. Get the feeling a head gasket replacement is in my near future lol.
Edit: I wasn't sure where to post this as I couldn't find a windstar forum.

Battery is likely toast. In an emergency a jumpstart is OK but as soon as practicable the battery needs a full monte dedicated charge, this takes several hours to a day at a low rate. Don't use vehicle alternator for this purpose as it will likely get roasted, especially if the battery is defective.
Whew.
You were right, the Battery was toast. tested it and only got 2.7 lol. Tossed a brand new battery in it and starts, and runs no problem.
And as far as the coolant looking like mud, after doing a carfax report, I found out that it had been sitting for about a year or so. Flushed out the rad, put new fluid in and it's nice and clean. Temp sticks at the 1/2 mark even after driving hard for 138 Km.
However, I do have a nasty shimmy at low speeds, fades out around the 80kmh range then returns around 100kmh. Also it does it when I let off the gas and start to slow down without touching the brakes. Pulls to the right, not bad, but it's there. Wondering if it's the alignment maybe, or as I had happen on the wife's versa, the tire is faulty. We had the same type of shimmy on her car last winter and thought it was the alignment, drove from British Columbia to Alberta, aprox 8 hours. Got there and had a flat, took it in to the tire shop and found out that it had to be replaced as it has separated.
So all in all, I dodged the bullet as far as any major electrical and a head gasket replacement.
Now to figure out the shimmy.....
