I HAVE A 77 F-250 4X4 WITH A 351M/400 AND WAS WONDERING WHAT I SHOULD DO. I HAVE THE STOCK 2BRL CARB AND STOCK INTAKE, BUT WANT TO NO WHAT IS THE BETTER OPTION. I HAVE A 600 EDELBROCK 4BRL I WANT TO PUT ON BUT DONT NO IF I AM BETTER GOING WITH A ADAPTER FOR THE 4BRL TO WORK OR IF I SHOULD GET A 4BRL INTAKE IF THEY EVEN MAKE 1 FOR A 351M/400. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
Those adaptors are more suited for putting a 2brl on a 4brl intake for fuel economy etc than what you want to do. I guess it would work but I doubt it would run any better. If you really wanna 4brl get something like an edelbrock performer intake for a stock engine. Or if you wanted to keep the stock intake I beleive a holley 500cfm 2brl will bolt on and will be more than enough carb. You can do alot with them they run them on alot of dirt and aspault stock cars with big hp.
Don't use the adapter!! They only work good when putting a 2bbl on a 4bbl intake.
Get a good intake like an Edelbrock Performer. They are pretty easy to change on the 351C,351m/400. There are no water passages it them so the radiator doesn't need to be drained or anything. A simple bolt on for better performance.
The adapter plate will cause too much turbulance and hinder performance and economy.
