I have a '79 F150 4x4. (I wrote your other post)
I had Headman on for 15 years. They were 16ga and solid. I didn't like the way they stopped in front of the cross member tough, (4x4 issue).
This spring I tried the Hooker route. From an Engineering stand point they sucked. The tubes came off the heads at a miter, not straight and then bend. The tubes really hugged the block when there was all kind of room to leave the block breathe. They stopped at the same place my less expensive Hedmann did. I checked with the Hooker tech people and they said all would do that.
I ended up going back to Hedmann but this time I went with the fenderwell exit. This was awesome. From there a 20" x 3" extension and then right to a pair of FlowMasters. Perfect.
I do believe that you don't the Hookers with your added heat issues. That was my main reason for sending them back.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Sep-02 AT 03:36 PM (EST)]Sanderson's are the best in quality , heavy construction , fit and finish........get the ones with ceramic coating both inside and out-----expensive but worth it.......fd
Ya know I liked the Hooker headers too, but then when it comes to sliding the engine back in, it didn't fit! Went back to the Hedman that were originally on there, kinda close to the crossmember but workable...
