Like Cowboywanabe, I also wear boots to my office job. And Dockers-type pants (my mother calls them wash pants) look fine with them as long as they don't have the tapered legs. They look goofy if they ride up on the shaft of the boot. (By the by, as long as your suit pants aren't too short for the taller heel they should look fine with boots. After all, President Bush wears boots with suits on occasion... and who could forget J.R. Ewing.)
I agree that trying a pair on in person would be preferable, especially since you have never had a pair. You might try www.sheplers.com once you have an idea of what size will fit you best. I had very good luck with them a few years ago - I needed black boots for a wedding and they really came through.)
Boots where do i myself begin.
Worn them most my life and have found that theres no substitute
for comfort. My Lizard skin tony lammas are the best paid 325$
15 years ago love em they conform to your foot and they wont
stretch over time like snake skin types. But a little less expensive
type would be some Elk Skin like my others tony lammas are, very
soft and will feel good on your feet for someone who does'nt wear
them must in the past and a good sub for elk is Horse yup there
pretty close to soft as elk. Anyhow good luck and dont skimp on
comfort or price you will end up in the long run wishing you didnt.
I was looking at bootbay last night and found a couple pair by justin for under $100 that seemed pretty good. Like I said, I'll try to head off to that Western shop sometime soon to see their selection.
