does anybody know where the metal tube from the choke housing is supposed to go and where i might find one?mine is rusted and busted off.also why does my 76 have electric choke and my 78 have this tube running to it.thanks for the replies
Did it not go into a plate on the manifold under the choke area? One tube that was threaded into the carb and the other one hooked up to the carb via a vacuum line in on the top rear of the carb?
My '73 has the choke tube as well, and it goes to a connection at the back of the passengers side exhaust manifold. I don't know if this was stock, but the choke works fine. Polkat
when i had the stock manifold on i busted the choke tube when i did a carb rebuild. my plate was too badly rusted to reuse so i went and bought a repair kit from napa. i fabricared a plate out of 1/4 steel. thin i justed used blue rtv to seal up the new plate and the maifold, i put the big thing in the kit in the plate i fabricated, you have to see the kit to understand what i mean. i think you just drill like a 1/2 hole, maybe more maybe less in the new plate and the big thing taps itself into the plate, there was no air leaks and the tube just drops down into it. email me and i will try take a picture of it this weekend
