lights

i bought a basket case 69 f 100 i have front and rear parking lights... i have head lights but when i turn on the head lights i loose the front parking lights ??? any help on this is greatfull thanks to all replys ..... russ

I think this is the way the trucks were made. Sometime in the 70's theyy stayed on.

Yeah, that's normal for cars and truck up to somewhere's around the early to mid 70's.
Makes sense too, you ain't parked when you're driving.

I could be mistaken but I believe my 72 has the parking/running lights on the front on with headlights on.

If this truley is the case that they are supposed to be off I can't see the harm in maybe wiring the fronts to the backs so they say on.

Up to '69 the parking lights went OFF with headlights ON. In '70 they switched to ALL on.

Because in 1972 the new Federal seatbelt, gas tank, and lamps rules were coming in to effect for all vehicles including light trucks, heavy trucks, and buses.
