98 3.0 Running Lean
I changed my engine this weekend and now I have a check engine light coming on. The code reader tells me that it is the number 2 bank oxygen sensor and that it is getting a lean reading. The only other problem that I have noted is that sometimes the engine seems to be stalling. For example I will be going down the road and the engine seems to not have enough power and then all of a sudden you are pushed back in your seat. Then this morning on the way to work I was going up a hill and it started to lose power. Then I heard the engine back fire so I pulled off the road. The engine seemed to idle ok so I continued on. From then on it ran great. Please let me know what you think. Thank you, Russ

I'd be looking for a vacuum leak... possibly a gasket that split on you or a vacuum line disconnected...
Keep in mind just because you aren't getting a code for the other bank being lean, doesn't mean it isn't. It's very possible (and common) for one bank to be slightly leaner than the other, setting a code for one bank and leaving the other bank at a marginal, but acceptible, trim level.
I'd be taking a real close look at the fuel injector O-rings at the intake... sometimes they "roll" upon installation and cause a vacuum leak. I'm assuming those got swapped over into the new engine.
Good luck

I installed new o rings when I put in the injectors. How would you check for a vacuum leak? Also I changed the o2 sensor and had the codes cleared and they have not came back. This morning the engine did the same thing on the same hill. It just seems to lose power and I have to pull over. Then I can start again and it drives great. It drove good for the rest of the day. I did notice a slight hesitation a few times during the day but nothing bad.

When running at idle spray carb or brake spray around all the intake gaskets and vacuum lines and watch for an idle change. This will indicate a vacuum leak. Check fuel pressure too. Seems like you get your trouble under load? Could be to low of fuel pressure and it's being starved.... Do you have the ability to watch engine PIDs while driving?
