2000 e-150 tow package

Since my van has the factory tow package, it doesn't just happen to have a brake controller hidden somewhere by chance does it? If not is there a wire already running up under the dash for a controller?

no controller but often times they includ a pig tail plug in under the dash.
My 03 doesn't have the tow package, but I have about 6 differant pig tails for assorted apps.

If you have the tow package, then you have the brake controller plug. It is located behind the emergency brake pedal on the lower back firewall. You can buy a brake controller pigtail at Walmart or trailer store to plug into it. I have a '99 and this is where mine is located. If you have the 7pin plug at the back, you are set. Remember to check if the fuses/relays are plugged in for the towing package. They are located in a box on the right side of the engine compartment (right side as viewed from the front, looking at the engine). These are separate from the usual bank of fuses and provide protection for the lights, charging, and reverse lights on a trailer. My '99 didn't have the 7pin connector, but had the plug for it stubbed off at the rear axle...I just had to tap in with additional wiring and I was done.
