Tow Package

I HAVE A 96 F 250 WITH A TOW PACKAGE HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A BRAKE CONTROLLER WITH THIS PACKAGE. WERE WOULD I FIND IT AND WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE.

Look under the dash board. If there is one, it will be a little box with a sliding tab, thumbwheel or button on it.

The controller is NOT part of the package. You have to have one installed aftermarket.

...and ALLCAPS symbolizes yelling.

I've never seen that - even my brother-in-law's '96 Eddie Bauer Bronco didn't come with one, even though I have the original sticker and it has the trailer package.

It could be something just for the heavier trucks (F-250 and F-350) that were ordered with the truck. Might be something we'll never know.

It is dealer-installed, Ford did offer a version of the Tekonsha Mark IV, with their label on it, but it is dealer installed. I honestly don't know why it isn't built in on trucks today, the trailer package is standard equipment on Superduties.
