My 2000 F350 7.3 came with a K&N air filter. Many here do NOT like K&N.
Is there some other filter I should use that'll fit my intake tube and semi-cool air box?

 

i was able to mate a 6637 to my k/n tube.

 

Was the K&N a drop in to the stock air box or a complete new system? The main squack with the K&N (or any other drop in filter for that matter) is lousy fit in the stock air box that leaks like a sieve. I don't care if you have the most fancy million dollar system in the world, if it has leaks you are in trouble.

 

hydro man 17 beat me to the punch as I was typing! Is it a drop-in replacement for the stock box or an intake system? If it's a system then a 6637 filter should fit and if it's a drop in you can buy an aFe filter.

 

I run either a FRAM Toughguard or a PUROLATOR Pure One filter in my stock air box, I have no leaks and these filters fit and seal quite well.

They are BOTH thicker and DRY charged with something that catches more dirt.

The FRAM unit IS available on the shelf in WalMart.

 

If you're looking for a nice intake for stock injectors that has Ford written all over it (appease the CARB), you might look into AIS.
