Where the front of the front leaf springs mount is referred to as the spring hanger. A hanger system type of lift will include a replacement hanger that relocates the front spring mount farther down to provide "X" amount of lift, these types of lifts also include new longer shackles for the rear of the front springs.

Ok, not sure why my post from 2005 popped-up, but why not update all ya'll?
12 years now and no issues from my 3 inch body lift. Very easy to work on the drivetrain with the 3 extra inches. Swapping out the IAC and COPs is much easier for us with Gassers. No stress cracks visible anywhere.

More room in the engine bay

3 inch F-250 body lift kit installed 12 years ago. No stress cracks anywhere.

Glad it's worked well for you.

Do you still have the original rubber on the body mounts? Are they noisy under the front seat with the extra leverage from the 3" puck?

Body mounts are original- I have 113k on my truck and almost no rust, so maybe that helps. I was thinking of going to Polyurethane mounts when the OEMs start to get loose and noisy. Leverage issues have not shown up after 12 years- always assumed the body weights a lot less than the frame/engine/trans/axles/tires, etc. Wonder if anyone knows what those weights might be?

rear block question

Do any of you know the stock rear block size of my 00 ex 4x4 with a V10? I am installing rough countrys 2 inch leveling kit but need to raise the rear 1 inch now.

Thanks

Welcome to the EX forum!

Its fine to start a new thread to inquire about an unrelated topic, such as this body lift thread.
If your rear blocks are the factory parts they are 2"-ish, but there is a certain amount of taper built into them to keep the rear differential pinion angle correctly aligned with the transfer case output.

My Bad,
Never did respond to Stubbydnutz about modifying other things with the body lift. I did have to use section of pipe to extend the upper radiator hose a few inches.
Lots of these available in aluminum at Summit's website. I put in electric fans so no shroud modification until I decided the fans weren't worth it (two controllers and two 18 inch fans were almost
$800 along with the frame that I welded up). After I dumped the electric fans I modified the shroud by cutting only the round part that the stock fan protrudes into, and dropping it 3 inches.
I filled in the gaps with other similar plastic that I cut to shape. Glued them in place. Now I think I will pull out the shroud and get it Rhino coated to make it look like it's all one piece.
The steering shaft has a slip joint already and this took up the difference without any mods. The angle is such that it doesn't have to extend very much and remains safe.

Upper radiator hose extended. Fan shroud modified but hard to see the cut line here.

Glad the 3" body lift worked out on the EX. I had done 2 on my 4WD suburban's with zero issues. I am serious about keeping ride quality OEM but needed a bit more for the 305/70/16s to fit on my EX. I will switch out the body mounts while I do the Body lift since I am in there anyway. Did you have any issue with fuel filler hose or brake master cylinder line to frame block stretching too much?
Overall great job. Nice install and thanks for the update.

I'd really like to hear about your luck with body mounts. Mine are still good, not loose, and do not rattle- but it's just a matter of time.
I believe most of the mounts are the same as the F-250 pick up trucks, except for the smaller ones in front.
No modification was necessary to the brake lines or the fuel filler hose.
I'll take some photos of those areas and post them here-
maybe not as large as the "Not a Pimp Truck" photo I uploaded (just for fun).
I need to figure out how to get them to post in a smaller size !
