Just got my truck back.
$60 Diag (Code Reader)
$200 Labor
$380 hub/bearing w/ new sensor assembly
I guess it's fair. I wonder how much the dealer would charge?
It has been a little while since I done mine I think around 120,000 miles, I'm at 153,000 now. The stealer quoted me about $450 per hub (part only) and $1,200 for both sides and labor. I didn't realize at the time these were sealed bearings and I was getting ready to tow my travel trailer over the mountains and didn't want a bearing to seize because I installed it wrong, so I had the stealer do the job. I could be wrong here but I feel if one side goes out the other is not far behind so I would recommend replacing both if you can. Just my two cents worth though.
Just popped out the old rear differential sensor and replaced with a new one. Part cost $6.99. This site has saved me 1,000's of dollars. Thanks to all.
The rear sensor is to easy to install and is not expensive enough to justify ordering in online. Any autoparts store should have it. The one at Kragen was $16 while the one at the dealer was $25 so I just got one at the dealer for peace of mind.
My bad, it was $16. I got it at Oreilly's. The fuel filter was $6.
I realize I may be in the wrong thread here. I have a 1997 F150 Lariat 4X4 which I believe may have 4 wheel ABS. I will check on the front later, I have not had time. While the light is out I still feel an occasional ABS action on slow speed stops.
My ABS light came on then the speedo doesn't work until I hit 20 MPH. Camgin mentioned the VSS on the rear diff. causing his ABS light and speedo quit. Will changing the VSS fix both problems?

Maybe. A bad front wheel bearing is also a common problem that turns on the ABS light, from what I've read here on the board.
If the speedo is acting erratically, it is probably the VSS on the diff. You might be able to take yours out and clean it if it is working at speeds over 20. The dealer carries the VSS for around 20 buck, at least that was what I gave for mine.
Thanks for the info. I have replaced the VSS and the problem still exists. The odd thing is, when I am in reverse the light goes out. Start to go forward and it comes back on.

Get your front wheel bearings checked. There's lots of guys that wrote about the ABS light and failed front wheel bearing. Especially when you say it's going out in reverse, the wheel tilts the other way and lines up the sensor ring with the sensor.
