9" questions
I have a 71 F100 4x4 that has a 31 spline 9" rear dif with 3.50 gears and a factory limited slip. I want to install a 35 spline detroit locker and 35 spline axles. What will I need to do to carry this out? I have been told I need to modify the housing.Is this true?

I'm pretty sure you'll have to get a new aftermarket gear housing (hoghead) because the stock carrier bearings will not have a big enough hole for the axles to go through. I believe 33 spline axles are the largest that can be used with a stock gear housing.
