93 AOD trans
I have a 93 F-150, 2x4, w/302 and AOD trans. I am changing trannys and have a question. When I removed the pan on the tranny I am putting in I notice infront of the shifter on the corner just outside the valve body a approx. 2" circle with a cap and a snap ring. On the tranny I removed from the truck the cap and snap ring is not in there. It looks to be approx. 3 inches deep and looks like a piston or valve could go in there. I have another AOD tranny that is NG and it doesn't have the cover or snap ring. Why the cover on one and not the other two? Will this effect the performance of the tranny at all? This is inside the pan.
