Loose column shift lever
Hey all,
I don't know if this is a bonified problem but the shift lever on my steering column (automatic, not manual) is fairly loose, quite a bit of play in it. Is this something I should be concerned about? Is it an easy fix? I've checked the outside of it and it looks like I'd have to take the column apart to get the shift lever boot off to tighten anything. Is this pretty much what I'm looking at having to do?

I think there's a pin that holds the lever into the column.. it may be coming out or the holes in the shifter may be "wallowed" out.
You might be able to access it by removing the plastic covers around the column..at least you can on the newer ones
