Hi All Living down here in Aussie there is not a great load of information on old classics.
I have just purchased what I believe to be a 66, it has all been remodeled over its life and now has either a 302 or 351 in it. Need help too id this.
Also the vin plate as such, does not look like what I have seen on the net, it is just a silver plate with numbers etc on it. It is located on the left hand side radiator mount directly behind the front grille.
This old girl has been living in a shed for the last 10 or so years and has not been registered for 17 years, it is very clean and runs very well. I am looking forward to doing a lot of work on it and make it something special.
Any help on this is appreciated
Cheers
Nick

Welcome Nick. That's a unique and beautiful ride! A few things that may help...I think I read somewhere that Australian F-100's were built in Canada so that may complicate your research a bit more. FordBoyPete says that 1966 trucks don’t have a VIN because the VIN system wasn’t put into place until 1970 for trucks (at least here in the US). that serial numbers can be found though. They are stamped into the top of the rail flange on the passenger side below the battery. He also points out that if you’re lucky, the build sheet for the truck may still be stuck in the springs under the seat (if the seat’s original). That’ll tell you everything about your truck. I’m sure there’ll be some smarter folks along shortly that may be of more help. Once you get to posting and get your 15 or whatever the minimum is you'll be able to search the archives...there's a wealth of info there.
That's a great looking truck. As far as looks go, it apears to be a 66. The grile looks like something missing, or at one time it had driving lights in it. As I said Great looking truck.
Thats a 66 grill alright, but the section near the headlight has been cut or trimmed on both sides. Running lights maybe?
Pictures of the engine might help identify it.
If it was originally built as a RHDrive truck it would have been built in Canada. the VIN tag should be on the left hand (in your case passenger's) door, unless it was removed in the remodelling
