1971 Ford F250 4x4 - '71 stroker
Here's the link to my "mega-cab" project. Just a little eye candy for those who might care. The cab is painted inside and out with much of the interior done. What do you guys think, should I put the chrome mouldings back on? I'll be ditching the 22's and 37's for chrome plated 20's and 40's. I would like input on appearance and suggestions before it's finished.
I would say no chrome trim, since you put the late model door handles on it. The trim would look better if it had the old chrome door handles.
That's a lot of work there. Especially in extending the cab and rear doors. Those old crew cabs are cool, but the rear seats had no more room than a modern super cab.
Excellent work. Keep us posted. I love those '67-'72s!
cool, I like projects like this...keep us posted with lots and lots of pictures...BTW why do you call it mega cab, it looks like regular crew cab to me!!!? just me, I guess!!!
Dude, that truck is insane. Gotta give us more pics as it progresses. I would either chrome the handles or paint them red. I wouldn't put any other chrome trim on it though...
Thanks for all your opinions guys. I'm leaving the chrome mouldings off for now, and will paint the handles to match. Keep the opinions coming. it's appreciated.

I call it a mega cab because I streched the original 1972 cab 10 1/2 inches in the rear doors and roof so it would match the floor and firewall from an '06 crew cab it's sitting on.
here's a pic from the reg cab conversion I started with so you can see where I grafted the new and old firewalls. here's a dash shot now it's almost done.
sweet idea.. i'm starting a similar project with a '64 ford shortbox regular cab that i will be setting on a 3/4 or 1-ton v10 frame. most of the body and styling will stay original, and i'll keep the metal dash, but i'll change a few things and add some modern creature comforts to the cab to go along with what it sits on. that '72 will be awesome when it's done! you're going with a 6.0 as in the diesel motor right?
