65 / 66 floor replacement

hey just wondering how the fit of new model '73-'79 floor and front cab supports would work. my donor truck for the disc brakes etc was an old write off and I kept the ibeams et I thought at a quick visual the floor and cab supports looked like they might fit too. they were in 100% condition no rust at all will they work?

I would say anything is possible with alittle modification and skill; however you need to ensure proper clearance for under the floor boards as well as trans hump area. If your trucks a manual or automatic needs to be consider as well. Measure 3 x cut once.
Theirs other options as well BlueOvalTrucks parts sells the LH side for 66/65 f100 & 250 and I would check Mac's Auto parts.
Just a thought; someone will chime who's alot smarter than I.

The cab mounts line up very well, altho there is a slight difference in the angle that they attach to the side of the cabin interior, it is not a big difference. The floor pans have different ribbing and contours for E-brake cable and dimmer switch mounting, but it will work as long as you are not looking for "concours correct" fit. It will function just fine.

I used 73-79 floor pans and cab mounts in my restore and with a little tweaking was very happy with the fit. As always in restoring oldies you never get perfect fit without a little effort in your part like said earlier measure twice and cut once.

Cory, The 76 pan that I cut out was an exact copy of the 66 that I planned to put it in with the exception of a 4" piece on the back. Putt says he found one that was different, hmmmmm.

I do know the mount points are the same from 65 to 79 so you should be able to make it work, no problems.

Like posted don't cut without measuring several times.

I thought they looked the same. I cut the 2 sides out of the '79 already. I cut it along the seam where the fire wall meets the floor at the angle then along the side where the trany hump is. I will be keeping the original '65 trany hump that part is rock solid. it is also a 4spd. I wanted to keep as much of the original metal as possible. That is good that things should line up perfect. I am not looking for show room condition just 80% good type thing. I like my truck driveable not sitting in a garage with a cover on it waiting for the next show. I like it on the road where I can teach the chebbys a harsh lesson in reality.

I am waiting on repair panels from Carolina Classics. I also have a good flor pan from my 79 donor. After floor repair comes new carpet and the installing seats out of an 01 f150. I just picked up new seat mounting bolts to anchor the seats to the floor. cost about 40 Not too cheap but not compromising safety These s eats are very heavy due to the set frame contains the lap and shoulder belts.
Next week we go to get paint.
The old 66 should be getting there.
