I just picked up a used 04 on Saturday and am trying to get the codes for the door. I went to the dealer he wanted to charge me $150 and he said it would take two hours! I did a forum search and checked all the places mentioned in the forums but no luck! It is not above the ebrake (perhaps because the computer module was changed due to recall?) its not anywhere in or around the glove box.
Do I have to suck it up go to the dealer and pay the $150?
I love the truck! Suprisngly good ride loaded or unloaded.
Look in the owners manual, glove compartment, and ask the person you purchased the truck from. If that fails, continue to look under the dash, it's there somewhere.
The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5–digit entry code; this code is located on the owner’s wallet card in the glove box, is marked on the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You can also create your own 5–digit personal entry code.
Even if the previous owner had programmed a 5-digit code you can over ride the system with the factory code located on the module if no card is found. Make sure you look the computer over as it should be the original.

I don't have the card that goes with the owners manual. I bought the truck from a Chevy dealer who took it in on trade so he doesn't have a clue. I looked around under the dash near the ebrake no numbers there (the wiring harness was recalled and replaced maybe thats why its not there?), and its not behind the glove box, I removed the glove box and looked around there.
My local dealer is happy to do it. For $150 and 2 hours. There has got to be a cheaper easier way!
The wire harness recall has nothing to do with your keyless entry. Maybe someone with a keyless entry can chime in. It has to be under the dash and you may have to pull the computer module down to see the bar code(assuming that is why the dealer charges for this) to find the code.
My keyless/alarm wiring box is just above the emergency brake. It looks like it is zip tied the kick panel. It is very tough to see. It has a large 16 pin white connector coming out of it. You might also try tracing the led dash ligh back to the panel. There should also be an over ride button just under the steering wheel colum.
I have an 04 F250.
I went out and took a look at mine, I don't have the key pad on the door but I remote entry/no alarm. Pull the panel under the steering wheel, 4 thumb screws, drop the fuse block, 4 bolts probably 10mm socket, and the module is right above the fuse block, the one located beside your emergency brake is not the module you want.
Dealers can read this code just by hooking into the system and charge $80 for this service unless you send your daughter with a short skirt in.......

Sorry function12, what you are describing is an aftermarket alarm system. ikold, it would take the dealer all of about 1 minute to retrieve the door code with a scan tool, perhaps talk to service manager a convince them to be reasonable.
They may call it ford, but it is aftermarket with a ford sticker on it installed by the dealer (they used to made by code alarm but I don't know anymore)
If you find out what you do exactly have (Ford or After-market) maybe we can get an addtion to the tech folder since the owners manual just states digit codes on computer. Hard to determine what your looking at under the dash at times.
Might save us a few problems in the future since people are buying used trucks.
The keyless entry is Ford factory installed. And the dealer wants to ding me for over $100 to dig it out. All he has to do is hook it up to the computer and grab it, the service wrtier even told me that. He made it sound like it was a very involved process though, "lots of programming to do" sort of thing. They charg 1.5 man hours to do it and their labor rate is $90/hr. The sad thing is, they don't even pay there techs half that amount!
It would be nice to not have to pay the money and take the extra time. The dealer isn't exactly close.
