I don't like to deal with the mail order companies. Like Dell. And others. If you ever have a problem, you'll be stuck on the phone listening to music and punching buttons forever.

Go to your local small computer stores. Get to know them. Pick one you feel good about. For a little more you'll get personal service before and after the sale. The components come from the same factories Dell buys from. They'll build one for your needs. And you'll support a local business. May pay you back in the future.

i have NEVER seen anyone happy with a emachines, unless they heaqvily modded it. all of the componets are bottom of the barrel cheap, and they just dont make good long lasting computers.

Hey, pfogle, can you still get linux for free? i thought i heard somewhere that yo had to pay for it now, is that true?
