Pick An Era

If you could pick any era in history to live in, which era would you choose, where and why?

It cannot include the current time we're in.

I'd try and go back to the early days of electricity.

But only if I could go armed with half of the knowledge I have now, I'd go back and invent the geothermal heatign and cooling systems and actually build one.

that's like saying who would you rather have with you on a des(s?)erted island:
the hottest member of the opposite sex with no hope of escape from island
or
the ugliest person of the same sex as you that can build a raft to escape back to the real world, where your publicity of survival brings you women or men and a book deal that makes you rich

The postwar era, late 40's early 50's. I'd fit in there.

My choice also, and I did fit in there.

The gangster / bootlegging era (the 20's) really intriges me.

Wow, that is a very tough question. Now if I could go back to see a certain event in history it would probably be to witness either the Civil War or the Revolutionary War. Now if I had to live my entire life in a particular era, I would probably choose the post war era 50's and 60's. Great baseball, beautiful cars and people were a lot more ethical back then.

I could see myself as a bootlegger in the 20's.

Or a pioneer in the early to mid 1800's.

First, I would choose the days of WWII. I would love to be able to learn to fly an F4-U Corsair, or P-51 Mustang!! Even though it was a terrible time of turmoil, technology was growing by leaps and bounds, especially aircraft.

Second, take me back to the '60s and early 70's. The cars, girls, and Rock-N-Roll! (Not necessarily in that order, either! Music is never first! It does make great background noise, though.)

I lived in the era I would like to go back to the post war times of the 50s. I was born then but I'd like to be grown at about the early 50s. I liked the way people acted during this time.

Another vote for the post war era.

An era of high morals, ethics, and hard working people. The economy was booming like no other time in history.

During the last days of the giant steam engines and the coming of mechanized farming. I'd have a farm and save my money for one of these new fangled Farmall's International will bring out in 1924.
