I would go back to the mid-late 1700's. I would stake a plot of land for myself and my family somewhere along the gulf coast. And I would set to work building an airplane. I would make sure to claim a LOT of land, too. That way my family would be set for years to come.

Back to my ancestors, the Vikings. Though history gives them a bad name at times, they were very sophisticated people. Take for instance the ships, and the hunting and fishing, and just their way of life. Simple. They did what they had to, to survive. OH YEAH!

Another vote for the 50's...I'd like to be 16-18 in 1955.

50's or 60's everyone seemed pretty laid back then.

Every era seems to have a distinct draw for me. I think that the most intriguing would be anytime in the last 3 centuries before the birth of Christ, but I would wish to be near the capital of Rome. Just imagine the great thinkers trying to determine what human existence was really about, laying the foundations of pure mathematics, a great functioning democracy, no contrived existence due to technology, glorious wars and a life tied to belief in mythology. Wow!

Yep 50's and 60's for me too, everything was still innocent back then.

I should most likely seek out an era in which I could prevent Sierraben from not excluding this - the most recent era; from this list.

Smack him at birth, or possibly prevent the folks from meeting, whatever needed.....

Then I could choose RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW as where I was supposed to be.....

Pity, it cannot be done.

If you figure all of that out -

GOOD FOR YOU!

Late 40's early 50's. We were not overpopulated like we are now. You knew your nieghbors and you respected them. Hunting and fishing was great and no problem getting on a farm to hunt or fish. It was eons safer than it is today, for everybody, not just the kids. Cars were reliable and highways were not crowded. People were friendly (at least most of them) and if you were a kid hitch hiking someone safe would always give you a ride. It was a great time to live. You could swim in the creeks and lakes and if you swallowed some water it did not make you sick. We could play cowboys and indians without some poliically correct idiot chastising us. People knew the difference between what was really serious and what was just kids being kids. Todays society makes a life and death issue out of the most minor happenings. It was a far better time to live.

We are right here where we are - because this is where we can learn the best what the almighty wants us to learn this time.

Try not to get done too soon.

The '50's, the era I came from, but as a grown man. The early '60's also were good to me but the late '60's are not my cup of tea.

1920 in Nashville, TN. I'd like to have been there for th ebirth of the Grand Ole Opry. I could have played rythym guitar or the bass fiddle for some of those guys. (Maybe) That would have been cool. To know Uncle Dave Macon and Bashful Brother Oswald personally. Very cool, indeed.
(Oh and of course, I'd own a model T Truck!)
