I am fixing to repaint my 92 f350 crew cab with gravity fed HVLP gun. There is not enough paint in the cup to shoot the whole truck. Will I have any problem with dry spray when I start painting again after refilling cup?I have never used HVLP before.I am an old school painter(conventional & airless).Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,Ron
Unless you are using a real fast reducer and your paint room space temp is in the high 80's, and 90's it should not be a problem, the paint should melt in. I know your concern though, thats why when I did mine, I shot the one whole side and then refilled my gun and went down the other side. jmo
The only coat you have to be real concerned with dry spray is the final coat. Take note of how much paint you use on the first coats, then for your final coat mix that much up in a container with maybe a little bit extra for safe measure and for hitting areas you see look a little dry a little more as you go along. Have it at the ready so you can just refill the cup without spending much time and getting dry edges. But you should be fine if the clear or paint isn't a real fast set clear and you have a slow enough reducer for the temps.
