Flamming Pissed

Well, I finally got the new motor started tonight after getting a new starter and adjusting the timing. Watching the guages, everything was perfect, oil pressure, water temp...perfect. Then my mom yells out the window, "Should the engine be glowing red?" So right then a big burst of air came shooting out of the radiator with coolant, and sprays everywhere. I turn off the key, check to see what's up, and flames shoot up on my brand spanking new bassani headers with the HTC added for $100. And they were glowing, kind of like what a pipe looks like after you've had a tourch on it for a few minutes. Yep, melted at least one vacuum tube, but hopefully not the new spark plug wires. Did I mention I was pissed?

I second the running lean condition and I hope you have not hurt the engine. It's not good on any engine to rum them hot and even worse on a new engine.
