hail damage repair
I've been looking at my Grand Marquis' hail damage for the past four years and I'd like to do something about it. Does anyone know if a kit like this PULLER KIT will work. This one I found doesn't seem to be that really cheap one they show on TV. I want to do the hail repair myself to save money and learn.

This would fit well in the paint/body froum too

It looks like it would work well on dents with a diameter or cross sectional area of say 2 or more inches. The small dents like hail does ( marble size) would be hard to pull , because the dent has pushed the sheet metal inward in such a small area, making the strength of the backwards cupped steel in that area , really strong. Most body shops will treat those marble size dents with a sanding of the dented area, filler, primer, then paint. jmo

Those "fix-a-dent" kits don't work.
They basically glue to the metal and then try and pull on it. The glue doesn't hold well enough.
A bodyshop uses a tool along the same principle, but actually tack welds a rod to the sheet metal, then gets pulled....much stronger then glue.
If the surface is reachable from behind, you could use a hammer and dolly to smooth out the dents.
You could also get a book on bodywork and learn the basic techniques and do it yourself.

After I posted this in such a hurry I realized how dumb I was. Sorry about that.
I have heard of the tack welding technique. I will be looking into some body shop info. I'm also gonna try different techniques as I go. I just have to get the time.
