I have a 95 f 250 automatic.for some reason today the push button overdive light was flashing and the truck didn't shift right.so i let the truck idle in a parking lot for about 15 min or so and now its not flashing and my truck shifts fine.why would the overdrive light be flashing like this and now its not?I was wondering since i have oversized tires on my truck if the sensor maybe doing this cause when i going 50 it says im going 35.

It means something is wrong with the transmission, and it is intermittent. When the problem was there the light flashed. When it went away it stopped flashing. A code was stored in the computer's memory so that someone with a scan tool can get the code and diagnose what's wrong. The code will stay in memory for about a month after the last time the light flashed.
Yeah, time to pull codes. A lot of auto parts stores will pull codes for free.
I think the light resets after several "normal' cycles of operation.
You possibly have some problem starting up that would be better to fix while it is small.
Interestingly, I have never had the light flash, even though about 30K miles back I had intermittent harsh shifting which eventually lead to a rebuild. So I guess the computer doesn't flag every anomaly.
