I will assume this was already designed for a 12 volt application. If so, take the black wire and bolt it to a shiny metal place on the radiator support. Then find the darkbrown wire going to the front marker lights. Wherever is convienent, since the brown is the same all over the truck. Scrape some of the insulation away, and twist the red light wire onto the brown wire. Tape it up good, and it should work.

You can twist the wires together and use electrical tape, but this is not a very reliable connection and it can give trouble as time goes on.

The next best way is to buy some butt splices and crimpers, and splice the wires with them. You can then tape over them too if you want.

The also have a new fangled splicing system that looks sort-of like a butt splice, but it screws together and is re-usable. But it is more expensive.

The best most permanent way to splice them is to buy some shrink-tube, some solder and a soldering iron. Slip a piece of shrink-tube on the wire, then twist the wire together and solder it. Then slip the shrink-wrap over the connection and shrink it to insulate. This will give a long lasting professional looking job.
