Question Fuel problems Help please

96 explorer v-6 I have no voltage getting to the fuel pump and I have checked the relay and fuse the indications I have are a open in the wiring ... Using a voltmeter ..... I can ohm the wiring bewteen the fuel pump and wiring harnest under the seat and have a connection.. Anyone have a schmatic and know where the wiring goes after it comes up under the seat? Can I run a temporary wire to power the fuel pump or any other ideas... Thanks

Next up is the inertia switch. I dont have a wiring diagram for a 96, but my guess would be that it's under the dash/passenger side where the rug meets the firewall. If it's not there, your owners manual will tell you where it is.

Check for voltage at the inertia switch.

On my 94, the fuel pump relay was fed electricity by the adjacent electronic controller relay. I think they were interchangable. Try plugging in a "known good" relay in both locations.

Fuel pump relay to inertia switch to fuel pump.

BTW you will only see voltage for 2 seconds after you turn the key to run.

You really should have a wiring diagram. Might find one online at autozone.com

And like craig said, you can try swapping relays

Sound like the anrusha-switch (for give the spelling not my best side) may be tripped. Mine is drive side in back over rear wheel.

Also, make sure that the plug on the bottom of the inertia switch is tightly connected.
