door lock actuator installation
Folks: I feel like I did the impossible. After hearing all kind of horror stories on actuator installation on 2000 Lariat, I decide to tackle it any way. It was mainly the $200 dealer labor tab that gave me the impetus. Its easy after you get the old one out. Did right side; left side will be a breeze. Once you get the door panel off and electrical plugs pulled, it helps to disconnect screw holding window slide to the inside panel and move the slide out of the way toward the hinge side. Take out three screws holding door lock and move whole assembly to position to remove push rods and actuator elec. plug. Use small screw driver to slip actuator snap loose and remove it. New one goes back in easily. Put all your plugs back and walla! Felt good! oz
