Question Torsion bar question..?

I've seen on here in the past about some people tightening their torsion bars to gain a bit of extra clearence in the front. Does this make the truck sit more level? I'm not a mechanic by any means and was wanting to try this but am unsure of the consequences. The bolts that i should be tightening are on either side of the transfer case, correct? How much should i tighten them? Is there such a thing as too tight? How does tightening the bars pick up the front end? As i said before i'm no mechanic and would appreciate some help and advice on doing this.

Thanks Guys

I raised mine about 1.25" to level the truck by cranking the torsion bars. Most will say that it is not the recommended way to level, but I have not had any problems with the truck and I LOVE the way it looks now. Just take good measurements so you raise the truck the same on both sides.

Yes it is not reccomended but can be done the best way to count the nuber of turns on teh bolt and take tape measurments on both sides of the front bumper to ensure they oare the same. I would not go to high it will put more strain on the torsion bars.
