E40D 4X4 to 2X4 coversion?

E40D 4X4 to 2X4 coversion?

Wel, the trans on the 'ol 91 finally went out...gave its all to get me home. I've ot a line on a recently rebuilt E4OD out of a 4X4, but mine is a 2 wheel drive. Anybody know if I can just swap out the tailshaft for the transfer case or is it more complicated than that?

Another interseting option is a friend offered me a C6 in his garage, just come get it. Don't suppose that would work, eh?

you need the 4x2 tailshaft and output shaft for the trans conversion. The C-6 would work if you have the computer, wiring harness and driveshaft for it.

Hmmmmm, should have asked how to swap out an output shaft before I took this project on. How does the output shaft come out?

the trans needs to be disassembled in order to replace the output shaft. It is one of the last dozen or so parts to be removed from the trans.
