is it possible to run trans off different computer?
i have a 91 f-150 4x4 302,aod trans. just bought a 90 E-350 van 351w,e40d trans. i am swaping the 351w into the truck. the e40d slips. the aod is good. can i leave the truck computer to run the aod trans?

So since the E4OD requires a computer and the AOD doesn't then he either needs a reprogrammed computer, or use the E4OD right? Because if I remember right a truck with an E4OD that does not have its harness to the trans plugged in, it won't start.

i talked to a guy he told me all i have to do is put the cable for the aod on the 351w. the 351w computer will flip the check light. no big deal. thx for the replys.
