count the bolts in the transmission pan.
11 bolts = C4 or C5
14 bolts = AOD/AOT or AODE-W (4R70W0
17 bolts = C6 (rear edge of the pan is "s" shaped)
20 bolts = E4OD
if it's 11 or 14, you would have to identify it by the shape of the pan or the gasket.

My questions are. What motor is in it? Is the door jam sticker still there and if so what code does it refer to under trans code? if not . Manual or automatic? if manual 3,4 or 5 speed? 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive? Top loader or side linkage? Only reason I am asking, is you gave us no info to go on. It could be a number of differnt transmissions.
