Reason: miss represented the engine
Are you kidding a speed limiter? I've been over 90 in my truck and nothing like that happened. I have a 98 XLT 4x2 3.0. What year did they start doing that?
i have a 00 ranger 3.0 with auto 4x4 and i have beet 109 -110 in mine and it starts to cut out around there... and mine runs fine over 85, my tires whine until then
I have a 2002 edge and i will go on the interstate and hit 92 and then it wouldstart bouncing but i keep going that fast the whole way!!!! is there a way to take that limiter off??? that would be nice.....
Superchip. Made for everything except the Duratec 2.3 engine (@%*&!). Lift the rev/speed limiter, plus add power to get there.
Never had my truck fast enough to hit a speed limiter. Have definately hit the rev limiter. When you hit the limiter at WOT, it REALLY bounces. Like +- 500RPM. That'll mess with you on the highway.
Dunno what the speed limiter on my truck is. One day I'll find out? The Cosworth-designed 2.3 is the perfect engine to test that with...
well i did not reach the rev limit but if that what it dose when it reaches the speed limitor i won't do that any more and by the way i was racing a mitsubeshe eclips and i kept up intil that
Both of my Ranger 4x4 Supercabs '88 (5 spd.) and '00 (auto) have had vibration issues that started at about 78 mph indicated (75 mph actual) and continued until about 91 mph indicated, when they smoothed out again.
They always started to vibrate at 78 mph, no matter if the tires were new and balanced, or old and balanced, whether the u-joints were just replaced or not.
I've put 212,000 on the '88 and 94,000 on the '00 so far, so it isn't just a bad set of tires. I'm on about my sixth set. Of course I've always used the standard issue Goodyear Wranglers that come on them, so maybe it's the tire/Ranger combination.
I always assumed it was a natural harmonic spot in the body design, and didn't fight it very often, since I shouldn't be doing over 75 mph in too many places in the Northeast anyway.
Speed limiter. Same thing with mine this past weekend with no driveline vibration. I need to find a way to disable it and reprogram my speedo but alas, no microtuner for the 2.3.
My 03 edge 4x4 has a govenor set at 91 or 92, only reach it once when getting called home from work with an emergency. dont need to go that fast in my truck, thats why i have a bike!
had a 2000 4.0 4 door limit was 100, thought I blew the engine but at 95 the power came back. Took me a minute to realize what was going on. Did not get any bounce, was smooth the whole time?
