ac compressor to regular compressor

How difficult is it and what parts are needed to convert an airconditioner compressor to compress regular air into a storage tank to provide on board air. I have the ac compressor and brackets for my 400m motor but don't know if it would build much pressure or not.

I am doing this same convertion on my truck. It is best to mount these things vertically, but most older Ford trucks laid them on their side. The oil fill is 6oz, and I will be using non-detergent 30w oil. I think it would be easier to just lay it on it's side, then you can just change it's oil whenever you change the engine oil. One version I'd really like to find is one off of an old dodge, the ones that looked like a little v-twin sitting between the banks. Imagine how much air could be put out with one of those!
