The trim change slightly further along in years.
Custom trim being the lowest was usually;
Black rubber floor mat <>instead of carpet
No headliner
Reg sun visors
Bottom line upholstery
No courtesy lights
No striping
Then then you could order options.
Knowing the exact year would help.

Hi, I was under the impression the "custom" F-100's weren't really that "custom". Just the entry level truck. See Harrison at my web page below for the ordinary "custom" truck....plain bone white - about the only option was the C-4 automatic that was an option behind the old 6 banger that I took out....
No, Custom really means Custom. Odds are if you special ordered the pickup like my dad did, it was a custom. His 77 custom F250 4X4 had Ranger Trim, AC, Headliner, Rubber mat floor and 4:10 gears. The coolest thing about the customs though was that the dash was the same color as the main color of the truck. You could order a custom ala bare bones, but it wasn't really a "package".
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Nov-02 AT 01:56 PM (EST)]Well my custom has the gray dash, and my grandfathers had the gray dash too. Custom was fords base model on trucks and cars (remember the custom 300. It was a plain galaxie). Customs were a starting point. Mine is plaine jane, gramps had race track molding and two tone paint.
