First Ford Extended Cab?

Does anyone know in which year Ford came out with the first F150 or F250 Extended cab, short box, 4 x 4. I would like to find one to restore and customize.

Thanks for any and all help.

The Supercab was introduced in 1975

It didn't come in a 4x4 model only a 2x4.

First Ford Extended Cab?

ford first made the supercab in mid 74, not many left, but I had one. I don't think they made them 4x4 until 78, at least I have not seen an earlier one, and no 4x4 short bed super's till the 80's, not sure when though.

Actually Ford did offer a Short Bed extended cab. I junked out a '78 F150 Supercab, Short Bed. It had dual tanks even. Not sure when they started though.

The shortbed 6 1/2' was available in 75.

I don't have a 74 brochure,but he 75 brochure says it the NEW supercab.

It's time for more research,I guess.

First Ford Extended Cab?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 27-Nov-02 AT 04:50 PM (EST)]My old super cab was a shortbed, 1974, and it was an f-100. I did not think they made them then, until I found this one, they did not make 4x4 supercab's shortbed's till the 80's, i have never seen a 4x4 supercab before 78 though, they might have made them, ford did alot of weird things.
