I was pulled over by one of AZ finest and was given a $50.00 ticket because my tires extended over 2"s past my fenders.
As I was talking to the officer a honda went by sporting it's tires atleast 6"s past the fender wells I asked what about that car??? He proceeded to tell me that was ok but for my truck the big tires BFG mud terrains will kick up rocks and the ones on the car won't. I believe someone should rewrite that law

I see why AZ state made this law, literally on my window shield! HA! The BFG's I have are picking up small rocks all the time and flinging them into the wheel wells. I would be pretty pissed off if someone's tires through a rock and cracked my window shield. However I'm smart enough to know to keep my distance. I'm not going to give a guy like you a bunch of crap just because you want big tires and they happen to throw a rock occassionally. But as usual most people want to whine about what others do and not what they themselves are doing. Hence how these stupid laws come into existence. Get some wheel well guards (I don't know exactly what they are called) but they should keep the rocks contained and may protect from this stupid law.

my truck does have mud flaps for the front and back fenders it is just the top of the tires that extends out past the fenders 3"s

Selective enforcement. I hate that. If they aren't going to enforce it then get it off the books; if they are going to enforce it then it applies to everybody.
