1999 F150 4x4 Should Ft Wheels spin freely?

I have a 99 4x4 and am getting some noise that I cannot tell if it is tire noise or if I have a wheel bearing going or maybe the brakes are rubbing. I raised the front and spun the front tires and they do not spin very easilly. Is this normal? How can you tell if you have a wheel bearing going?

Thanks in advance,
tom

I have a 2000 and the wheels spun verly easy without to much effort. The best way to tell if the baering is going is you will hear a grinding sound while you drive from the side that is going out. In my experience just by raising the front of the vehicle you won't tell anything unless the bearing is that far gone. The grinding would probably get alot worst when you make a turn.

It could be 4X4 components. I think if the CV axle is going bad the wheel will stick. Possibly the hub itself too may cause wheel problems.
