wheel dragging question
we have 84 f250 4x4, with Dana 44 front. the right front wheel, when jacked up, spins ok, but rubs about 4 inches, stops spinning. you have to push it again to spin it, where it spins fine until it hits that spot again.
we did replace a cracked rotor, brake caliper, pads, bearings, the works. spindle and needle bearings appeared fine.
drives well, no wandering, no smells, noise, heat, nor shimmy.
any ideas, guys???

The rotor sounds like it's a little warped. Is that the one you replaced? If it is, sorry to say the quality of the rotors you buy now are not very good. Buy another one and it's the same. I have had them turned after they warped, and they seem to last a little while after that.

Franklin, I am afraid you're probably right. and yes that rotor was new from o'reilly's. 2500 miles on it, no abuse. hmmmm... it actually was a little funny on the spin test when we first put it together. thought it was the new caliper and pads settling in. well.... guess another project on tap soon as the weather clears. thanks.
