I'm lost!

Just put a 460 in my truck, it wasn't getting any spark. I put a brand new coil on it and still no spark. I tried 3 different brain boxes. I don't know where to go from here. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

If there is no power to the system there is no spark. If the sensor in the dist is bad, no spark. There are two different wirings for the Duraspark depending on what year you have. Start with the basics. Check the wiring and if there is power to the system.

The first thing to do is get a voltmeter and check for voltage at the coil. You should have close to 12 volts when cranking and around 7 volts when running. I have seen very few of the reluctors fail. Go back through all of the wiring from the box to the ignition switch and back to the coil. The 78 should have the Duraspark II and is pretty much bullet proof, but what year is the engine and distributor? Do some checks and post them on this post. You will find a lot of knowledgable people on here that are more than willing to help. Good luck Gary
