I am only thinking about getting a lift so I can run wider tires. I don't want to go above 4", 2" is optimum. Is there an inexpensive way to do this, like with coils and blocks? Or could I just add a wheel spacer so I don't rub, instead of lifting?
Will I have to extend my drive shaft or steering arm? (don't want to)
I have stock rims, will probably have to get wider ones, I don't need anything fancy, just standard shiny ones, recommendations?
Also need a steering stab, single or dual? What brand?
(front end skips on bumps)
Will my existing HD Bilsteins handle the lift?
Not used for agressive off road stuff.
Plan to go with BFG mud.
Use for on road and deep sand, no real mud.
Can't afford the big Swampers, Toyo's and such.
(buying another house)
Thanks ya'll...

Steve...
i really don't know much about this stuff.. i like the way the trucks look when you do it, but i have heard it can cause "issues".. i up the tire size on my mule by two sizes... tire guy said that was it, but i have had other people tell me i can go to 33's with stock rims... i dunno, but i'll find out... just doing that made my truck a couple inches higher and really look better without any probs at all... so... i think for me i'm not gonna bother with the lift... to much money, too many hassles... and like you, i'm NEVER gonna do any REAL off-roading... just modding and towing...!... i would rather put the money in other mods... like a new dual ss 5" exhaust...!
ok my experience my 04' f250 5.4 (pics in gal) i wen twith a 6" skyjacker, 35" bfg A/T
and its doing good for me, the only thing ive had to add is the torq bars for the rear axle because these things wanna twist that rear when you put a lift on her
even with the lift the 35"s scraped that rubber portion of your front bumper on full turns- i made a nice manicure job of that segment with my dremmel,
with what you want i would prob get a leveling kit- there pretty cheap, then go someplace like 4wheelparts online, and they have package deals -4 rims/tires mounted and balanced, i got the procomp alloys 1079 i think 16x10 with 315/75r16 (34.7x12.5)
for $1350 thats with the insurance on the tires
as for the steering stabilizers highly recom, i think they should be ther stock, i have a single with my setup and it works great, less jerky then with the stock setup with smaller tires
I am only thinking about getting a lift so I can run wider tires...
All you need is new wheels and tires then. You will want slightly wider wheels (8" - 10" wide) with proper offset/backspacing. Height (lift) won't allow a wider tire, wheels (or wheel spacers) will. I would suggest a 10" wide wheel if you are looking to go pretty wide, but I don't know the offset/backspacing you want (I don't know what is stock). Otherwise, an 8" wheel will allow for a 12.5" tire.
It looks like the widest BFG Mud Terrain (R) is 13" wide on a 15x9.5" wheel. If you're really looking only for width it would seem a 15x10" wheel would be best, with the 325/60/15 tire (amost 31" tall). I'm not much of a wide tire guy, but that would seem like the closest to what you're asking for.
It is not a good idea to run the highly aggressive mud-terrain tires that you are thinking about buying in deep sand, or any sand for that matter, you will only dig yourself down deeper with every spin of the wheel. Especially with trucks as heavy as ours. Just thought you may like some advice there, a good all-terrain tire would work much better for what you are suggesting. I feel your pain though, I love the look of a mud tire, but it just isnt feasible with the type of driving I do with my truck, so I stick with all-terrain.
For your 2003 PSD, consider a leveling kitor a mini spring pack kit. You should be able to fit LT295/75x16's or 315/75X16's on 16X10" wheels. Check FabTech, Donahoe Racing/EDGE, Skyjacker, et al's websites for leveling kits.
Also, here's a website that can calculate tire sizes, widths, etc going from inches to metric, or vice versa: www.dakota-truck.net
Donahoe Racing has 2", 3", 4" and 4.5" kits for your '03 PSD. The 2" will essentially "level out" your truck and will accommodate 295/75X16 tires. Check it out here: www.donahoeracing.com

Yeah (hehe), I do like the aggressive look. BFG mud is't laden with big lugs, that's why I was thinking about them.
So, ya'll recommend a leveling kit and throw spacers on. Maybe run BFG mud 315's.
