reinstalling a C6
I just got my C6 out of my 70 F-150 4x4 rebuilt. I will try to get it under the truck tomorrow. I need to know a few things. How much fluid should I put in the converter to start it off? I dont want to start it off dry. My manual says I need 14 quarts. Which is generally the best fluid? What would be good to flush the coolant lines out with? and how hard is it to find the gasket that goes between the transfer case and back of the transmission. I haven't had alot of luck in finding one.

Big,
I usually pour about a quart and half into the torque converter before i spin it on. Remember to get three clicks while spinning it counter clockwise.
I don't know anything about the transfer case.

As far as the fluid goes, I've always had best luck using Ford-Motorcraft brand transmission fluid. I'm sure others will say differently, but I think the occasional extra expense is worth it for a fluid developed by the company which makes the transmissions. Although I'm pretty sure they do not produce it themselves. Just my $.02
