I have a 2005 F-150 Lariat Supercab and want to lower the rear end. I bought 2" lowered shackles and installed them. They beat the bed to death on bumps and hard turns. This is the first time that I have run into this problem with shackles. The shackles popped and banged every time the truck moved. I had to remove them to get rid of the noise. Now I have two big dents in the bed where the shackles kept hitting. Is there anything else that can be done without a major undertaking?

Reason: spelling
You can get a lead sail boat keel from florida cheep. damaged boats are everyware. look for a boat between 35 and 40 feet long. remove the lead blocks and bolt them onto the front wall of your bed. 9,000 pounds should lower your truck the 2 inches your looking for.
Bama, where they shackles meant for your truck? seems odd that they would hit into the truck like that. I've read on these boards of many people doing the rear lowering thing and not having a problem.
One solution I did see was to remove a block from under the rear shackles and then install the stock leaf spring clamps from a 4x2, for proper refitment.
Thanks for the reply. I did get the right ones and I have seen many new Fords that have been lowered. Not sure of the problem and the next time I see one lowered, I will stop them to have look. I will take pictures to post when I get backin town to show what was happening.
