transmission woes

I know I might be chasing a ghost here. But, any ideas as to my transmission problems. At speed it has started shifting rough. Ocassionally while on cruise at 55/65 on OD it slips and shoots up the rpms. Note: It actually seems to shift more smoothly when cold and gets worse the longer I drive. Thanks

I chased a OD tranny problem in my Aerostar like yours, mine turned out to be a plugged fuel filter.

As I stated in the post about seafoam, Its cheep and it can't hurt. Go to Autozone and buy some seafoam Transmission Treatment. drain a quart of trans fluid and put a quart of Seafoam Treatment in. Try it.

Thanks for the advice. This is my third rebuilt tranny has approx. 50,000 miles on it. Took it to get serviced about a month ago and the shop did'nt proceed with any repairs as they were unable to pull any codes (for some reason their computer could'nt get any info from my vehicle at all. They told me to take it to a ford dealership to figure out why. Which I have not done yet.

Only about 130,000 on the vehicle. Got the truck from my brother with about 15,000 miles already on this last rebuilt tranny. Then proceeded to add about 20,000+ in about 6 months as I use it for work. I drive 3,000+ miles/month majority highway miles. As for the tires they are slightly larger than stock. Not sure off hand the exact size but, nothing outrageous. As far as I know gears are stock. Although I'm in need of replacing the rear differential as well as the gears have been grinding and are about shot.

im blown away with how many rebuilds have taken place already. your rig has decent miles and should only be on maybe its first. it does sound like there is more wrong with this rig though besides possible tranny issues. i would take it down to the place that built it the last time and have a few words with them.

I agree I'm in the process of having my bro find the papers and info for the place on that last rebuild. As i recall it wasn't cheap so it should have been a professional job. Either way the ford dealership wants the info as well so they also know what they might be up against. Thanks Anyway.
