Top speed?
What would be the top speed of a 78 300I6,3.73,np435,with 31 tires.I had 3.00's and a colum 3-it them would do well over 85(speedo)with 29" tires.
Question when i swapped the dana 60-3.73's and I punched it it had slower acceloration from 50 on up than with the 3.00 and the 29" tires why?

Top speed?
I don't know the top speed, but you had slower acceleration b/c the straight six doesn't make a lot of hp, it makes torque, and your better off w/your old gears. They use the the torque your motor makes more effiecently. but pull something heavy w/those gears you have now, and you'll out accelerate pulling the same load w/your old gears. Basically, your motor doesn't rev fast enough for you to accelerate faster, it relies on the torque factor.
